Any.do has a free plan for a single user. They have a team plan for $7.99/member per month.
Asana
Asana has a free plan for up to 10 individuals and small teams up to 10 teammates.
ClickUp
Clickup has a very generous free plan with most of their paid features. However it has some caveats - On the Free Forever Plan you can have unlimited guests that will have full create and edit permissions, which cannot be modified. Also guests can not be on the same e-mail domain.
Do Board
Do Board does not have a per user fee instead they charge by the amount of storage you can use. The lowest level is 50GB for $5.00/month.
Freedcamp
Freedcamp plans include unlimited tasks, projects and storage & users and comes with the many core features including tasks, milestones, calendar, files and time tracking.
Goodday
GoodDay has a free forever plan for up to 15 users but only allows 1 GB of storage.
Nimboard
Nimboard is a board based organizer that is totally free, they don't offer any paid options. It is useful for organizing to do items, notes and links.
TickTick
TickTick is a full featured list-based task mangement app and that is free for a single user with only one list. The premium version is $35.99 for the annual plan. On this plan a single list can be shared with multiple free users.
Todoist
Todoist is a popular task and to do list tracker. It has a free plan for a single user with no more that 5 projects. It has a user-based pro plan for $5.00/user/month or a team plan for $8.00/user/month.
Workflowy
WorkFlowy is a bullet-based note taking and organizing app that allows sharing of task items. It offers a free plan with a limit on the number of bullets per month or a paid subscription for $8.99/month.
